Goluza: ”We respect BSU but winning is a must for us in this one!”

Slavko Goluza

Tatran Presov will on Wednesday (17.15 CET) in Slovakia welcome Beijing Sport University. Teams are waiting for the match in quite different moods – Tatran will be looking to solidify third position in Group B in what will be their final home match of the regular season.

Coach Goluza was clear stating how much they respect BSU but also sending a message that winning is the only thing he cares about in this one. In their premier encounter of the season BSU suffered a tough 19:36 loss at home and coach Sola and his players will most certainly look to deliver a better outing on Wednesday securing a better result.

BSU used what was almost a month-long break for them from competitive matches in order to improve on both sides of the ball coming up with new both defensive schemes and attacking options and it will most definitely be interesting to see what can league rookies do against one of the teams which has been a part of SEHA community from its very beginning.

Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport (in Croatia) and Arena Sport (in Slovakia) as well as Sport TV (in Slovenia).

Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
We must enter the match against BSU fully focused and dedicated. They can run the court well but this will be our final SEHA home match in the regular season and we want to solidify third position. I expect my players to deliver their best. Of course we respect opponents but victory is a must in this one.

Josef Hozman, Tatran Presov player:
We can’t allow ourselves to underestimate our guests and if we give our best I believe we’ll come out as winners. They run the court well and we’ll have to be ready for that. We have to stick to our game plan and if we do I believe we’ll avoid problems in this one.

Vlado Sola, Beijing Sport University coach:
We've had almost an entire month to get ready for this one and we used that period to improve our condition and tactical knowledge. We've rotated a lot of players changing our defensive scheme a bit looking for the best solution and I feel like we found it now. Speaking of offense we've been working on a few more attacking options and we're looking forward to trying them in a match on Wednesday. I hope we'll look better than in our premier encounter of the season against the same opponent. Main goal is to at least translate 80% of what we're capable of in training sessions to the matches. We're aware Tatran have a better team but we'll do our best not to allow them to dominate the encounter.

Xinian He, Beijing Sport University goalkeeper:
I'm really looking forward to the match tomorrow and the opportunity to show what we've been working on in the last couple of weeks. We've watched a lot of videos on Tatran and I can say they really have a strong team which we'll have to give everything we have against.
