When we take everything into consideration I feel like NEXE deserved to win the match today. I feel like they simply wanted this more than we did. We've got to approach matches ahead of us way better than we approached the match here today that's for sure.

Hrvoje Horvat, NEXE coach:

First ever our win for us against Zagreb. Of course we're thrilled and I'd like to congratulate my players for believing we really can do this. We played really good, aggressive and that's what decided everything. I guess yet another difference maker was the fact that we didn't change our roster much during the summer while they went through a lot of changes and they'll definitely need some time to get everything to work the way they want it to. We've got to use this as a motivation for what's ahead and keep up the good work. 

Damir Bicanic, PPD Zagreb player:

Well-deserved win for NEXE. They played a really good match while we were really struggling on both sides of the court. We didn't have enough good minutes today to beat such a quality opponent. We have two more matches to improve what's not good ahead of the beginning of the Champions League and duel versus PICK Szeged so I guess we all have to give our best to make things work way better than they did today.

We simply couldn't wait for this match from the minute we all gathered here in Nasice before the beginning of training camps, that's how much we wanted to win this. The coach said we have to give everything we've got to beat an opponent like Zagreb and luckily for us and all of our fans we did everything really the way we wanted to and took this big win, our first ever against Zagreb.
