Pacheco explodes for 10 as Tatran take revenge in Sabac
Tatran Presov have on Tuesday evening celebrated their first SEHA - Gazprom League win of the season coming out on top in Sabac versus Metaloplastika with 31:33 after trailing 19:18 at the half. Coach Slavko Goluza and his players have that way managed to take revenge for the defeat they suffered against Serbian vice-champions at home in Slovakia earlier in the season.
Hosts were able to control the match throughout the first 40 minutes of it. However, once they were forced to rotate giving youngsters like Vukasin Antonijevic, Brana Mirkovic and Filip Milovanovic a chance they simply weren’t able to cope with experienced Presov team.
In key moments Tatran’s back-line led by Oliver Rabek and Guilherme Linhares managed to deliver scoring three unanswered goals levelling the match at 26:26 with over 15 minutes left on the clock. The two were, along with the top scorer of this one Pedro Pacheco (10 goals) simply too much for Metaloplastika’s youngesters which eventually resulted with a two-goal loss for the home team.
Vukasin Vorkapic was once again leading Metaloplastika offensively finishing the match with seven goals while goalkeeper Milan Bomastar grabbed 12 saves. What however decided this one is the fact Tatran’s starting back trio went off combining for incredible 24 goals in this one (Pacheco 10, Linhares and Rabek 7 each).
