Reigning SEHA - Gazprom League champs Vardar managed to prolong their winning streak with a 23:21 win over Tatran Presov in an amazingly narrow match on Wednesday night in Macedonian capital. Guests delivered a marvelous outing arriving to Skopje fully motivated but Vardar managed to grab three new points deciding the match in the middle of the second when they opened the gap to three goals which proved to be enough.
With three more points Vardar remain on top of the standings while Tatran still have realistic chances of reaching the final tournament as they are currently third. Guests delivered an amazing first-half performance keeping control of both tempo and the result. ‘Red&Black’ managed to take the initiative in the second even without Timur Dibirov and Gleb Kalarash. In absence of Russian internationals Igor Karacic led Vardar’s offense with six goals while Milosavljev grabbed 13 saves. Janus Lapajne netted as much for Tatran while Chupryna grabbed as much saves as his colleague on Vardar’s goal.
