Motor eager to show their real face in Novi Sad

After six wins in a row in national Play-Offs, reigning Serbian champions will try to endanger one of the strongest teams in SEHA Gazprom League this season – Ukrainian Motor Zaporozhye.

So far this is definitely not looking like a season team from Slana bara will remember for a long time. At the moment they are fourth in Group B with 0-4 score but also a big motive to stun favored guests who are preparing for what is waiting for them in EHF Champions League knock-out stage. Coach Rojevic also sees the match as a great opportunity to provide some of his younger players with a chance to see what it is like to play against a quality, experienced team like Motor.

Ukrainians are currently on top of Group B with three wins and one defeat. An eventual win in Novi Sad would bring them to a verge of securing the regular season top spot considering they have a positive goal difference against Macedonian Vardar and +7 from their first match against Nexe which was played in Nasice. That would definitely be a good overture for CL knock-out stage challenges ahead of them but it is sure Vojvodina will do everything to spoil the perfect scenario for coach Savukinas and his guys.

Match will be broadcasted on RTS (Serbia), Sport 1 (Ukraine), Arena Sport (Croatia, Slovakia) and Sport TV (Slovenia) so make sure not to miss it!

Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:

We’ll face off against a team which is competing in EHF Champions League and not only competing – they finished the group stage on third place managing to defeat a team like THW Kiel. We were a bit unlucky in Ukraine losing the match after failing to score from some clear looks. In this one we’ll give our younger players a chance to prove what they’re capable of. We are looking forward to the match and yet another opportunity for our players to grow through SEHA League.

Stefan Miljkovic, Vojvodina player:

We know a lot about them. They are working really hard and playing really well and I’m sure they’ll do everything they can to defeat us on Saturday. We’re however ready to deliver a solid outing and fight until the very last second. I expect this to be a really good match.

Gintaras Savukinas, Motor Zaporozhye coach:

We’re in a good situation at the moment. Apart from Orbovic, all of our players are ready to play. Goal is to give some of our players who are returning from injuries like Artem Kozakevych and Dmytro Horiha a chance to catch the right rhythm faster and more easily. In our premier encounter of the season against Vojvodina we were not playing at the highest possible tempo trying to save some energy ahead of an important CL match but this time we’re coming to Novi Sad with a full roster, eager to catch the right rhythm and deliver the best possible outing. Goal is, of course, to prepare in the best possible way for what’s waiting for us in EHF CL knock-out stage and we believe this game against Vojvodina will be a perfect opportunity for us to do that.

Vyacheslav Bokhan, Motor Zaporozhye player:

We’re preparing the way we always do – working on our mistakes and trying to improve them. Our first match against Vojvodina turned out to be quite difficult and we’ve barely managed to win it which served as additional motivation for this one. Vojvodina have a good, strong team full of guys with character and fighting spirit. We know we can’t underestimate anyone in this league which is why our goal is to enter the match fully focused and deliver the best possible performance.
