Dejan Babic: “We’ll do our best in Novi Sad, everything is still open!“
‘Slana bara’ sports hall in Novi Sad will on Tuesday (17:15 CET) host second leg of Serbian SEHA Play-Off clash between big rivals Vojvodina and Metaloplastika.
Two of the best Serbian teams have already met two times this season with team from Novi Sad grabbing two victories. Last week Jovica Nikolic sealed the deal scoring the winning goal in Sabac and putting his team a small step close to SEHA quarter-finals. It is however clear that match in Novi Sad will decide everything in terms of who will manage to get through to SEHA quarter-finals and face Telekom Veszprem.
Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels and Sport TV (Slovenia).
Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:
Tough game is ahead of us. We’ve played really badly in opening 20 minutes of the first game. We were however way better after that conceding only 10 goals in last 40 minutes of the encounter and winning the game. Ever since I took over as head coach we’ve been playing really good on the defensive side of the ball and if we play the way I know we can there won’t be any problems. Also, in this one we won’t be able to count on Milasevic and Mirkovic.
Jovica Nikolic, Vojvodina player:
We’re not thinking about the fact we’ve managed to win the first game at all. This will for us be a new game and goal will be to win it by as many goals as possible. We’ll fight for every possession. We respect our opponents but are aware of our qualities.
Veselin Vukovic, Metaloplastika coach:
We are going for the second leg a bit more relaxed but with the hope of delivering a good resistance against Vojvodina who at the moment have a better team than we do. I think we’ll for the first time this season have every player on disposal including Vorkapic. All the other players have also recovered from minor injuries that were slowing us down throughout the month of January. I hope it will be a good match in which we’ll do everything we can to deliver best possible resistance and of course reach a win if possible.
Dejan Babic, Metaloplastika player:
On behalf of my team and myself I can say that we are going to Novi Sad to deliver a strong resistance and try to do anything we can to advance to the next stage of the competition. They are, of course, favored side in this one but everything is still open.
