Kizic: “It wasn't easy but in the end we managed to come out on top“

Vardar - Motor Zaporozhye 44:37 (20:19)
(Dibirov 11, Cupic 9 / Vujovic 12, Kravchenko 8)

Butko Ievgen, Motor Zaporozhye coach:
We obviously didn’t come here with all the best players we have in our roster but youngsters, who were today given some extra minutes, showed what they are capable of. We have to be realistic and say our defense was poor and that’s something we definitely have to work on in the future. On top of that, Vardar were really good on the offensive side of the ball today reaching a well-deserved win in the end.

Stevan Vujovic, Motor Zaporozhye player:
We came with a rejuvenated roster and delivered best performance we’re at the moment capable of delivering. It is however really hard to play against Vardar and they should be an example of how you have to deal with all the problems that come your way.

Eduard Koksharov, Vardar coach:
I said before the match that we have plans for this one but also have problems. We wanted to give our key players some extra time to rest but Motor proved to be a very good, tough opponent to play against forcing us to keep our main players on the court for about 40 minutes. Stas Skube was our only available back player today with wingers helping him run the attack. Match against Kielce is now ahead of us and what’s good is that we’ll probably be able to count on Kristopans. However, we have to see how serious Dissinger’s injury is.

Marko Kizic, Vardar goalkeeper:
Motor delivered a great resistance today and I’d like to congratulate them on that. They came here with a rejuvenated team but fought hard throughout the entire course of the match. It wasn’t easy but in the end, despite of dealing with some injury problems, we managed to come out on top and that’s what matters the most – winning the points and quickly turning your focus towards the next challenge.
