‘Red&Black’ youngsters showcase potential as Vardar cruise past BSU

BSU - Vardar

In the first match of a busy SEHA - Gazprom League Tuesday, reigning both European and SEHA champions Vardar were in Zagreb better than Beijing Sport University. In the end 28:36 in favor of Macedonians although the match has already been decided in the first half during which the 'Red&Black' managed to open the gap all the way to 11 (10:21).

Vardar arrived to Zagreb without Skube and Atman but, despite of both that and the fact they were given a huge favorite role prior to the game, highly-motivated to reach another win and get things going in a good way before EHF Champions League challenge waiting for them in a few days. BSU were able to cope with their tempo for about 15 minutes after which Macedonians started opening the gap. A little less than ten minutes before the half-time whistle they found themselves five goals ahead (7:12). After that, on wings of their younger players like Dimitrioski, Karapalevski, Kjosevski and Sikosek Pelko - who were all given some extra playing time today, they managed to storm off to +11 before the half-time buzzer pretty much sealing the deal in this one.

Second half was much better for BSU who weren't planning on letting Macedonians keep on enlarging the goal difference but played well led by J. Wang, Y. Wang and P.Huang slowly narrowing the gap down to eight goals finishing the game with a single-digit deficit which was one of coach Sola's wishes prior to the clash.

Y. Wang and P. Huang netted six each for hosts while Kjosevski and Sikosek Pelko finished the match with seven each for Vardar.
