Vardar edge Vojvodina as Skube and Dimitrioski combine for 13

Reigning SEHA - Gazprom League champions Vardar had to use more effort than expected to win three points against underdogs Vojvodina. Home team won 26:23 (11:11) which helped them stay on the first position in group A with 15 points.
Both teams were missing some key players, and in some period of the game Vardar played with four wingers as Timur Dibirov and Ivan Cupic showed they are capable to play on back positions if it's necessary.

Vardar opened the match better taking 10:6 lead with five minutes left on the clock. However, Vojvodina were soon able to level the match at 10:10. Almost throughout the entire course of the game Vojvodina were behind but showed spirit and effort to keep up with favored hosts.

Additional problem for Vardar could be Dainis Kristopans' injury. In early minutes he complained of an ankle injury and went to the dressing room with a club physiotherapist never returning to this one.

Despite of guest team's efforts Vardar were in the last 10 minutes able to make a final push securing three new points. When they went on plus five with a little less than five minutes until the final buzzer it became obvious the deal is sealed in this one.

Stas Skube was with seven goals the best scorer for Vardar. Dimitar Dimitrioski addes six while Strahinja Stankovic scored seven for Vojvodina.

In the next round Vardar will host Motor in group derby and the match that will decide which team will be closer to the first position securing quarter-final spot. Vojvodina will host Beijing Sport University.
