Motor Zaporozhye without Malasinskas looking to continue the winning streak

Motor Zaporozhye

The third round will bring much excitement in the Group A where two newcomers in the League, Motor Zaporozhye and Beijing Sport University will meet for the first time. Soon after their last match against Vojvodina on the home court, the Chinese team will travel to Ukraine and try to win their first points of the season.

The clash between newcomers is scheduled for Wednesday, 25th of September at 7 PM (CET). Palace of Sport Yunost will once again be the place of action where Ukrainian champions will be hosts for the second time this season.

Motor Zaporozhye have opened the season in the best way possible. Firstly they won against Tatran Presov, and then surprised everyone and took the points against Vardar. As both of these matches were extremely tough and the victory was secured in the last minute, it will be interesting to see if that will be the case this time. One of the key players in Motor's roster, Aidenas Malasinskas is currently injured and will not be able to help his teammates on the court on Wednesday.

On the other side, Chinese Beijing Sport University did not have much luck both on the home and guest court. They lost both matches they played so far and are currently placed at the bottom of the table in Group A.

Mykola Stepanets, Motor Zaporozhye coach:
The Chinese people are known to be hardworking, putting heart and soul into all of the tasks they are involved in. Handball should be regarded as one of such tasks. If they tackle the problem, they will achieve the goal that has been set. We do not consider Beijing Sport University as a undangerous team. We will lack Aidenas Malasinskas during the match against Beijing Sport University. His ankle joint is swollen. Today’s magnetic resonance tomography will decide our playmaker’s future, but it is safe to say that he will not participate in the upcoming match.

Stevan Vujovic, Motor Zaporozhye player:
We must prove that we are not by chance at the top of the SEHA - Gazprom League Group A. I am sure it will not be easy to play against Beijing Sport University. We met during pre-season in the training camp, and I was surprised and impressed by their performance. They fight throughout 60 minutes, not giving up until the end. We have to run, come back fast in defence and play hard to win this match. Nevertheless, I am sure we have the capacity to keep up with such level of play.

Vlado Sola, Beijing Sport University coach:
Our next opponents are Motor Zaporozhye who are a great team. My team is not really used to such a fast pace as our next match is in just two days. It will be a great accomplishment if we manage to recover from the previous match and be ready for this one. We will try to give our best and give resistance our opponents as much as we can. It will be a tough match for us.

Wang Yu, Beijig Sport University player:
I remember our opponents from the training camp in Slovenia. They are a very strong team, but we will try to cooperate with our coach Sola and find the best solution for the upcoming match. We want to give our maximum in the match and get the best result from it.
