Meshkov Brest conquer Cair

Zeleznicar

Second away celebration for Meshkov in SEHA - Gazprom League’s eighth season as they were on Tuesday evening with 30:32 in Cair sports hall in Nis better than Zeleznicar.

Despite of the fact they had a busy weekend with an exhausting trip to Luxembourg which didn’t allow Veselin Vujovic and his team to prepare in the best possible way, they were still able to stay in control of the match throughout the opening 20 minutes against rejuvenated Meshkov team. However, after that coach Mochalov managed to wake his team up and as they started running the court smarter and faster they were slowly opening the gap all the way to 15:19 at the end of the first on wings of Yaschanka, Selvasiuk and Baranau.

Zeleznicar were way better in the second half on both sides of the court. Their defensive formation was on one side able to get some stops while they on the other side found the right attacking solution playing without a goalkeeper with one of their summer signings Predrag Vejin leading the way for his team. They even managed to get to only -1 twice (24:25, 30:31) but simply lacked strength and focus to completely turn the result over.

Maxim Baranau scored eight for Meshkov while already mentioned Predrag Vejin finished the match with eight for hosts.
