NEXE with 6 points from away fixtures in Serbia

NEXE sa šest poena iz Srbije

Spartak - Nexe

Croatian vice-champions NEXE have ended the Serbian tour in SEHA GAZPROM league beating Spartak Vojput 32:26 (12:12) in Subotica, only ten days since they beat Serbian champions Vojvodina 26:24 in Novi Sad. After tough 30 minutes, which have finished with a draw, Zdenko Kordi' boys broke the resistance of the home team in last 20 minutes and won three points routinely. That was the second triumph for NEXE in their fifth match of the season in regional competition.

The Serbian runners-up opened match much better than the previous one against Borac. Milos Lojaničić scored for 5:3 at the end of 10th minute, but NEXE's 3:0 series brought the result back to 6:5 for guests. Domestic squad made turnover just once until the end of the clash, when playmaker Djekić netted for 12:11 a minute before the half-time break. Match was decided less than five minutes before the end with guest' new series to put them up on +7.

Best scorers were Ljubojević for Spartak and Zrnić for NEXE with 7 goals both.

Marin Vegar, NEXE's player:

Match was interesting for fans, but really tough for players. Our trip here was long, and in the hall it was a bit steamy and that makes us even happier about this victory. It’s nice to see improvements in our game and we have to work further to become even better. Now, we are waiting for match against Borac and, of course, EHF Cup' matches.

Dražen Stojanović, Spartak Vojput's goalkeeper:

Match was decided in the second half. We expected NEXE to fall down, but it was contrary. They are good team which is competing in this League for 5 years now. We will keep working in order to be ready for the upcoming SEHA GAZPROM league matches. I am sure that we can do better.

Zdenko Kordi, NEXE's coach:

I want to congratulate to our today's rivals, their fans and my colleague Branislav Zeljković for hospitality and nice atmosphere. Spartak are doing good in the League but you have to play against quality teams here, and the most difficult thing is to be ready for each match. There are big differences between teams and it is dangerous to have winning pressure. We've had that burdain on our shoulders today but we won and now we're tunring to our clash against Borac in which we will look for more points.

Branislav Zeljković, Spartak Vojput's coach:

I belive we're on the right way and I'd like to thank my colleague Kordi on his words. This kind of defeat is always stimulative for further work. We have to be realistic - better team won today, in all aspects. Our players had troubles following their pace in attack and we'll have to work on that. This is great school for us and I have to say I'm not disappointed with my team's performance. We've played a competitive team against better team than us but in the end we've lacked strenght and lost points.
