Vedran Zrnić as a crown for stronger NEXE

Vedran Zrnić kruna za jači NEXE

Vedran Zrnic

NEXE have started with preparations for the upcoming season in Feričanci near Našice. Coach Zdenko Kordi and president Josip Ergović were able to welcome all players except currently injured Marin Sakić. By three reinforcements they have managed to sign earlier this month (Ivan Sršen, Mislav Nenadić and Damir Halilković), NEXE have today managed to sign excellent Croatian right winger, former world and Olympic champion  - Vedran Zrnić. In his career he has played for Zagreb (Croatia), Prule and Velenje (Slovenia), Gummersbach (Germany), Wisla (Poland) and Besiktas (Turkey) where he was playing for a last one year. He was also member of the Croatian national team  back in Portugal in 2003 and in Athens in 2004 where Croatia has managed to reach  world and Olympic gold medals.

Vedran Zrnić, NEXE's new player:

In almost 20 years of my professional handball career I've played away from home for almost 15 years. It is starting to get really hard for me, living away from my family and on the other side I feel I can still play on high level, I'm well prepared. That is the main reason why I've decided to come to NEXE and to play with this younger team.

Zdenko Kordi, NEXE's coach:

We have four new players, but such player with so many experience and quality like Zrnić is not something you're able to reach so often. My opinion is that this season will be much more difficult and challenging than the one behind us. We've raised the bar very high and it won't be easy to repeat last season's results.

Josip Ergović, NEXE's president:

It would be great to repeat results from the last season. In SEHA League we expect to fight for one of first 6 places. League will be better than last year, most clubs have reinforced and we also have two new highly motivated members.
