The first home appearance of the season in SEHA League is in front of PPD Zagreb. Croatian champions will host Eurofarm Rabotnik on Saturday, 5th of October. This match is scheduled for 7 PM (CET). Not only is this going to be the first home court experience for PPD Zagreb, but this will be their debut match in a new arena. For the first time ever, Dom sportova 2 will host PPD Zagreb's match in the SEHA – Gazprom League.
Croatian champions have had a rocky start of the season. They won the first match against Metaloplastika, but after that lost the match against Telekom Veszprem as well as every EHF Champions League clash so far. With a new coach and assistant coach in their squad, PPD Zagreb are looking for a chance to redeem themselves. They are currently holding the fourth position on the table in Group B with three points.
Without a doubt, this will be extremely tough match for Veselin Vujovic's squad. They will play against Eurofarm Rabotnik, who sensationally outplayed Telekom Veszprem just a few days ago. The pride of Bitola have got huge motivation after that match because they showed that they can, and know how to play against some of the best teams in Europe. With three victories behind them, Eurofarm are now on the top position in Group B with 9 points.
This will be an interesting match for Eurofarm's centre back, Lovro Jotic who spent most of his professional career in PPD Zagreb. Jotic joined the team from Bitola this season.
The clash between these two teams will be streamed on Arena Sport (in Croatia), Arena Sport (in Slovakia) and ehfTV.
Veselin Vujovic, PPD Zagreb coach:
Eurofarm Rabotnik are the team that had leak of luck in the opening of the EHF Champions League. By winning against Veszprem, they certainly got the extra motivation and courage to compete in the further competitions. It’s not easy to win against Telekom Veszprem, and only a few teams can do that. This fact tells us enough about their quality. It will be very difficult for us to play with them on Saturday, but we need that win. We have three goals till the end of October: to win against Eurofarm, play really well against Flensburg on Tuesday, and with great ambition welcome Pick Szeged on 20th of October. We will see how many goals we will achieve because, unfortunately, we have new injured players in addition to the existing ones. We certainly need the support of our fans this Saturday. We will give our best to show them that their support and love towards the club is not worthless.
Aleks Vlah, PPD Zagreb player:
They are a strong team that was able to beat Veszprem so they are surely coming with a motivation. That means that we have an extremely difficult match ahead of us. We are doing really well trainings, the atmosphere is great, but it's time to show it in the matches as well. I hope the first such match is this Saturday, where we will show our quality and put all our hard work into three winning points.
Stevce Alushovski, Eurofarm Rabotnik coach:
It is a big pleasure to play against handball giant like PPD Zagreb and my ex coach Veselin Vujovic. I learned a lot of things from him and I am happy too see him again. We are a little bit tired after Veszprem match, but happy after the big win. Every player is motivated to play in Zagreb, only Markoski will stay in Bitola after finger injury. All our matches this season are dramatic, we play good in the SEHA - Gazprom League and EHF Champions League. I believe that we can be competative also against PPD Zagreb.
Goran Kuzmanoski, Eurofarm Rabotnik player:
They changed the coach and want to demonstrate the quality against us. PPD Zagreb are a giant, favourites of the match and it will be a pleasure to play against team like that. We can compete against them, because nobody had an easy match against us. We are tough opponent and I am sure that it will be like than during the whole match.
