Tired Veszprem fail to take full bags from Nasice

Umorni Veszprem bez pobjede u Našicama

Nexe Veszprem
Another Croatian surprise! Only one day after they've lost the match against PPD Zagreb in Varazdin, defending champions Telekom Veszprem didn't manage to achieve victory in Nasice with highly motivated NEXE reaching a draw. Both teams are dealing with both injury and exhaustion problems but after first 30 it seemed like it won't bother guests in Nasice as they were already 5 goals up. But NEXE did not surrender. In the second half they've managed to close the gap soon even being a goal up for the bigger part of last 10 minutes. Veszprem have however managed to enter final moments with one-goal advantage with Bozic-Pavletic failing to level it from 1-on-1 piece against Mikler. Hungarians have then, luckily for home fans, made a mistake in attack losing the ball and later giving Zrnic a chance to level it from 7 meters which he did use after Nagy's harsh foul and a red card.

Hrvoje Horvat, NEXE coach:

It was a great story for my team and players, for our club and Nasice with happy ending. Managing to grab a point against Veszprem is a big thing for us but we did play well and deserve it.

Mirko Herceg, NEXE player:

This is a huge point for us. We've showed how close we are to biggest clubs and teams like Veszprem. We must continue with trainings, make progress and continue with results like this one.

Javier Sabate, Telekom Veszprem coach:

First of all I want to apologize to our fans. They didn't deserve this. Main problem is that we are tired. We have lots of matches to play this season with four more matches left to play before the end of the first part of the season. We also have a lot of injured players. Of course NEXE deserved one point, they played very well, but we must find the strength.

Laszlo Nagy, Telekom Veszprem player:

NEXE have deliver an exceptional performance, especially in the second half. I don't know what is happening to us, we've lost the team spirit. I will also apologize to our fans. We must fight on.
