Nexe - Celje

After the end of the first part of EHF Champions League's season, Slovenian champions Celje Pivovarna Lasko can now focus on the battle for the SEHA Gazprom League's Final 4 tournament. Team led by Branko Tamse is looking to come back on winning track after last weekend and 22:27 defeat in Szeged. That, however, might not be an easy mission against NEXE Nasice in case they don't take the clash seriously and enter it fully focused and prepared. Croatian vice-champions have recently hired Hrvoje Horvat to replace Zdenko Kordi on their bench and the move is already proving right with team from Slavonia grabbing a big away draw last round in Presov. Match is scheduled for Wednesday (19.00 CET).

Branko Tamse, Celje Pivovarna Lasko coach:

NEXE are coming to Celje with a new coach who is so far doing good job. They are playing very fast, with lots of quick-center plays and good counter attacks. They have some very experienced players like Vedran Zrnic, Slovenians David Spiler and Gregor Lorger and on the other hand they have some very talented young Croatian national team players. I expect an interesting and dynamic game and of course we would like for it to go in our way. That will require good defense, fast breaks and some easy goals. We expect them to play 5-1 defense where we will have to be very patient but they are also capable of performing some other defensive tactics. Nonetheless we have to respond well at home and do everything we can to win this.

Blaz Janc, Celje Pivovarna Lasko player:

I am happy that my health condition is getting better and better. I still have to take some antibiotics, but more or less everything is OK and I will play on Wednesday against NEXE. Difficult match is ahead of us. We've against Ljubuski seen that we have to play on 100 percent from the very first minute in case we don't want any trouble. When we do so opponents rarely find a way to beat us in Zlatorog. It is going to be a very interesting game against Nasice since this is the first time we'll face each other and this demands good analysis before we step on the court. Anyhow, I am optimistic and happy to be back on track with my teammates.

Hrvoje Horvat, NEXE coach:

Guys from Celje are playing modern handball. They are very fast and have a good coach. They are playing handball which I would us like to play here in Nasice. My team makes progress from training to training so we have some goals in Celje. We must play very good defense and be very patient in the attack. Mrdjenovic started training after suffering nose fracture but still won't make the matchday roster.

Ivan Srsen, NEXE player:

We've watched some DVDs of their matches and we know that Zarabec is their most important player, attacking engine and key man. They will punish every mistake we make so we must stop their attacks and actions.
