Vojvodina - Vardar

Serbian champions Vojvodina have ended their debut season in EHF’ Champions League but Novi Sad will once again have a chance to see an amazing team with Vardar Skopje coming to battle on Sunday (18.00 CET). Both teams are waiting for the match in good form with victories from last round with Vojvodina beating Maks 30:24 and Vardar celebrating against PPD Zagreb with 33:24.

Dragan Kukić, Vojvodina’ assistant coach:

It will be very difficult against Vardar. We will play against top teams. We have 6,7 key players and some youngsters and we’re trying to make everything work. We’re a bit tired due to tough schedule but I hope we’ll manage to reach a good result in the end.

Strahinja Stanković, Vojvodina’ right winger:

I hope that our fans will come and support us. A very good team is coming to Novi Sad. We want to give our best and try to make a surprise.

Raul Gonzales, Vardar’ coach:

Two days ago we’ve managed to beat Zagreb, one of our biggest rivals and climb to second position on League’s table. We will face another well-known opponent, they are the best Serbian team in last few years and are always inspired to play good against Vardar . Their roster in well balanced with some experienced players like our former player Rastvorcev and youngsters. We’ve, however, started the streak and we’re ready to make it last!

Stojanče Stoilov, Vardar’ line-player:

We simply have to win in order to secure a place on Final Four. We knoe they are a serious rival and they will surely look to stun especially at home. We’re confident after a victory against Zagreb but of course we’ll have to repeat it in order to catch another victory, especially our first-half performance. It will be tough but we’re Vardar and we’re always playing to win!
