Ivanišević with 23 saves for Borac' first victory of the season

23 obrane Ivaniševića za prvu pobjedu Borca u sezoni

Borac - Maks Strumica

Tibor Ivanišević has turned out to be Borac' hero of the day with 23 saves in their premier victory of the season over Maks Strumica 26:21(14:9). Remarkable goalie was match-deciding factor in a clash which was decided with Borac’ 4:0 series after 21:19. Loss has made Maks hit the bottom replacing Borac on that position. Nikolić and Čelić were from the line with 4 goals each most important for Borac’ victory. Guests have had amazing goalkeeper Trajkovski with 14 saves and well prepared Milosavljević with 4 goals from 100% scoring percentage but with remarkable Ivanišević on the other side there was nothing they could do.

In the next match Borac will on the first day of December host Tatran and Maks will only a day later play in ‘Jane Sandaski’ against Vardar.

Boris Dvoršek, Borac m:tel’ coach:

We have a rough schedule ahead of us which made us aware how important it is to try to beat Maks. I am satisfied with our defense as well as with Ivanišević. Our attacking game however needs to improve. We’ve just managed to catch our own rhytm, introduce some attacking news which enlarges number of mistakes but it will get better with time. We’ve missed Janković today giving him some time to rest due to a minor injury and with hime everything will look even better.

Tibor Ivanišević, Borac m:tel’ goalkeeper:

One of those matches which you expect to win. Mistakes we did in Strumica were still on our mind, it was not as good as it can be but it was fine. We’re slowly rising.

Marijan Andonov, Maks Strumica’ coach:

Well-deserved victory for Borac. We’ve opened the match badly and Borac were there to use it with +5 in first 30 minutes. Later into the match we’ve tried to come back but unluckily for us their goalkeeper was in too good form today.

Blagojče Trajkovski, Maks Strumica’ goalkeeper:

I am not happy with our performance. We’re experiencing a big crisis with many injured players. We’re trying to make everything work but it’s not happening. I hope that with this kind of approach we can only become better.
