Vojvodina dreams of a big surprise, Veszprem eager to keep the streak

Vojvodina sanja veliko iznenađenje, Veszprem za nastavak pobedničkog niza

Vojvodina - Borac

Time has come for another European hot shot - Hungarian Veszprem to visit center of Serbian handball in last few years, Novi Sad with home team preparing to meet SEHA Gazprom League’s reigning champions and EHF Champions League’s runners up. Hungarian team is running a tough schedule with 3 matches in only 3 days. On the other side, hosts are starting to forget two losses in CL against La Rioja followed by regional league victory over Borac and are ready to shine in the spectacle schedule for Thursday, 18.45 CET.

Nikola Marković, Vojvodina’s coach:

We’ll play one of the best teams in Europe after which we will start with mini preparations in a three week gap ahead of us. We will give chance to younger players because after a clear 23 goal difference loss from Veszprem we want to show what we can and see if we’ve progressed in the meantime. I of course invite fans to enjoy this spectacle.

Vanja Smiljanić, Vojvodina’s winger:

It is a big honor for us to play against such a team. We’re all aware of their strength and in my opinion they might even be biggest favorites for big European crown. I would also like to see full hall for this occasion.
