БГК против «Войводины» - часть 2

brest vojvodina

Meshkov Brest and Vojvodina will in three days play two matches. Reason is that Vojvodina have less than 24 hours ago played in Belarus as a part of Champions League's Round 1 and they will on Monday play rematch as a part of SEHA Gazprom League.

In CL Belarus champions have proved to be favorites in this clashes taking dominant 34:22 victory. In SEHA League Vojvodina was not able to reacha victory in first five matches having only 2 points from draws against Maks Strumica and Spartak. Meshkov on the other side have 6 points from four games but two losses were from their biggest opponents in the League, against which they will have to battle in order to reach the trophy in the end - Veszprem and PPD Zagreb.

For both teams this will be last match in September after which they will turn towards CL challenges waiting for them.

Sergey Bebeshko, Meshkov’s coach:

This will be our second match in three days against Vojvodina. I have to be honest and say I've never been in a situation like this. Teams from Serbia play specific handball and by that they have recently signed Rastvortsev who is quite famous in Russia playing mulitple matches for their national team. They have a young team full of potential and ambition. They might not be as good and as experienced as our team but we're sure they'll fight until the end. Most important things is that all our players are ready, we currently have no injury troubles.

Dainis Kristopans, Meshkov’s player:

Our match against Vojvodina a day ago has proved they are a strong rival. However, we're once again playing at home, in front of our fans and when the situation is like that our goal is always to win and that's exactly what we'll try to do on Monday.

Nikola Marković, Vojvodina’s coach:

We are having some problems recently. Our performances in previous match were in my opinion way under our possibilites and we hope to finally catch form. Our main goal is to do so until our CL's home fixtures which are on schedule in a week. Considering SEHA League, it is strong as always and it is hard to play against such strong teams like Meshkov. However, I expect my players to play better than in previous matches and show what they really can.

Filip Marjanović, Vojvodina’s player:

We have to make up for previous poor results. I also think we're not as bad as results make us look and I believe it will trigger a reaction among players to finally wake up and start playing better.
