Press conference about SEHA Gazprom South Stream League’s Final tournament - Final Four, which will be held in Hungarian Veszprem from 25th to 29th of March, was on Monday held in Thalia Theatre in Budapest.

Gábor Kálomista, MKB-MVM Veszprém’s co-president:

First of all I'd like to state how popular this sport is in Hungary and how big expectations from this tournament we have because this is the first time we're given a chance to organize such a big and important event. We also believe fans will see great, tight games. Veszprem will welcome some of the best European teams even playing important roles in Champions League and some of world's best players.

Mihajlo Mihajlovski, SEHA League’s president:

I believe MKB-MVM Veszprem are an amazing team which has surely brought much to our League by deciding to join it. I think they have amazing roster full of great players, probably best one they've had in about 10 years past. With them in we've surely managed to come a step closer to German Bundesliga or French Championship.

Considering our contract with Gazprom, we have two more years on and co-operation is I believe great. 90 games have been broadcasted live on television with 22 more live online streams available in 5 countries. We've had an average of 2600 spectators which definitely is promising. I also believe this Final tournament will be another step forward, even better than previous ones.

Siniša Ostoić, SEHA League’s director:

First I'd like to thank Veszprem for organizing the tournament. This season we've decided for Final tournament which will host 6 teams giving them chance to catch League's trophy. On Wednesday we will have so called little semis where 3rd positioned team after the regular part of the season will play 6th and 4th will play 5th in order to reach real semi-finals on Friday, Final Four. Final and bronze-medal match will be played on Sunday. I hope all matches will be interesting and exciting and that on Sunday we'll be happy and satisfied looking back on whole Final tournament. For now I can promise that event will be really spectacular with high-standard handball and other entertaining events.

Gyula Porga, Veszprém City’s mayor:

First of all I'd like to thank League's leaders for providing us with the opportunity to host such a major event, probably most prestigious so far in Veszprem Arena's history. We'll do everything to prove them this was a good decision, we have needed facilities and professional management ready to prepare such an event. I'd also like to state how people in Veszprem love handball and I'm sure they will warmly welcome the tournament and support their team until the end. I also hope this will be a successful event and that we'll convince League's leaders to provide us with opportunity like this in the next season as well.
