First win for Vojvodina

Vojvodina - Radnički 5 (14/15)

Serbian champions Vojvodina have against Radnički celebrated their first win this season in SEHA GSS League with 31:23 (17:10). The match was decided in its early phase with Vojvodina clearly proving which team is currently better. Ćirković’ team has really presented EHF Cup’ handball level already starting to enlarge the difference after 2:2. Home team’s defence was working perfectly providing wingers Marjanović and Stanković with clear goal chances. After first 30 minutes it was +7 with Stanković already scoring 6 goals.

Second half - same story. It seemed like Radnički do not have enough strength to keep up with host team’s great tempo today. Coach Vučković was not able to find the right lineup and the difference was slowly rising until it reached its highest point, +11 (23:12) after Lazović’ goal. After that both teams were just waiting for the final whistle.

Stanković was in the end Vojvodina’s best scorer with 10 goals, Grbović scored 5 for guests.

Đorđe Ćirković, Vojvodina’s coach:

We’ve achieved the first victory, very important for us. We’ve finally moved away from the bottom and I hope we won’t return there. It was a good game, we were playing well in the first half and used the difference in the second to reach the victory.

Nedeljko Vučković, Radnički’ coach:

Hosts have simply outplayed us today, they are clearly playing their best handball this season after reaching EHF Cup’s group phase. We have a lot of problems, as a club and this was just the result. Great match for Vojvodina.

Very important victory. We’ve started to climb the table finally. Great defence, lot of easy goals. I am really happy.

Strahinja Simić, Radnički’ player:

Well deserved win for Vojvodina, they were much better. We were not good at all, we’re tired but that’s of course not an excuse for such a bad performance.
