Metalurg’s youngsters better than Vojvodina

Pomlađeni Metalurg bolji od Vojvodine

Vojvodina - Metalurg 14 (14/15)

Metalurg are again on winning tracks! Červar’s team has even without many of their most important players but with Luka Cindrić and Miroslav Kocić in a good mood managed to beat Serbian champions Vojvodina 25:22 (12:11) and return self confidence they were probably missing after series of a few losses, especially in CL.

Serbian champions have opened the match very well with 4 goals in a row from their young right back Miloš Orbović. Vuko Borozan has then taken control of the match in his hands bringing Metalurg slight advantage which they were keeping untile the end of first 30 minutes. In the second half Metalurg’s defence started working on a higher level, Kocić was outstanding and Luka Cindrić unstoppable bringing Metalurg new three, important points. Already mentioned Cindrić with 9 and Borozan with 4 goals were Metalurg’s best scorers of the match. Marjanović has on the other side scored 6 goals, Lazović and Orbović 4 each.

This was third win for the team from Skopje this season in SEHA GSS League. Vojvodina are on the other side still on the bottom with two draws and six losses.

Vladan Lipovina, Metalurg' s player:

I congratulate Vojvodina on a good match. This victory is really important for us, especially after losses in CL, we’ll use it well to recover and motivate ourselves.

Filip Marjanović, Vojvodina's player:

- I am disappointed we didn't win. We fought well through the bigger part of the match, but that wasn't enough. This is some kind of example, how we have to play and if we manage to reduce technical mistakes, it could get a lot better. We’ now have to prepare for our clash against NEXE.

Lino Červar, Metalurg's coach:

- We came here with younger squad which has really fought well today and deserved victory. We were today a bit lucky in the end but we’ve showed potential with which we can work and which might become our great force in the future. We still believe in us despite of those losses in CL, we’re ready for new challenges

Đorđe Ćirković, Vojvodina's coach:

- We didn't play at home for almost two months, had a lot of problems using only four backs in our rotation which has without doubt affected our performance today. Metalurg’s rhytm was too fast for us in the end and it has decided the match. It Is hard to be a goal or two down through the whole match, ‘catch’ the result. We now have to forget this match and start preparing for those ahead of us in which we wish to reach our first win.
