SEHA GSS and EHF are
having better and better cooperation from year to year. EHF's leaders respect
SEHA's investments and that surely is one of the reasons why Macedonia has two
representatives in Europe's best club competition's group stage - Vardar and
Groups for CL's next season have been drawn in Vienna. Seven out of ten SEHA's clubs were active in the draw. There would be even more but Bosnian Borac Banja Luka was forced to cancel their appearance due to bad financial situation. Four clubs are in and three more have to pass qualifications.
Interesting thing is that qualification tournament in Brest will consist out of 4 teams, from which 3 will be from SEHA GSS League! Tatran and Vojvodina will play one semi-final match and Meshkov will probably wait for winners in finals. That is why CL might this year have 5 SEHA GSS representatives in its group stage.
Metalurg and CO Zagreb will play in group A, along with Kiel, PSG, La Rioja, representatives of Europe's best three leagues. Veszprem and Vardar will, on the other hand in group C compete against RN Löwen, Montpellier, Celje PL and Chekhovskie Medvedi.
NEXE and new SEHA GSS participant Radnički from Kragujevac will compete in EHF's Cup.
CL starts on 24th of September, SEHA GSS on 30th of August. Schedule will be tough, even without WC in Qatar in January which will host four out of eight SEHA's national teams (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus and Macedonia). Draw wil be held on 20th of July in Doha.
Conclusion - great and hard SEHA GSS season is ahead of us. New big step for SEHA GSS.
