No 6: Nexe Vujic, P. Lelic and Ivic with key roles
Broj 6: Nexe Ključne uloge za Vujića, P. Lelića i Ivića
Four victories, one tie, and only one defeat. That is NEXE's score in the second part of SEHA Gazprom South Stream League which has in the end brought them sixth place. Many richer clubs, favorites, were not able to take 'full bags' from matches against the team from Nasice. Metalurg, Vardar and Tatran were forced to leave without a point, Meshkov managed to catch one. By that, they were during the preparations for the first time better than Croatian champion CO Zagreb. NEXE became one of the hits and probably the biggest surprise of the season. It in the end turned out that they have lost chances for a better position, maybe even F4, in the first part of the season with losses against Borac in Banja Luka, Vojvodina in Gradski vrt hall, just like a draw in Osijek against Lovcen.
Before the season NEXE was forced to change the whole lineup, bringing younger players as well as new coach - Zdenko Kordi, former club's sports director. But, Kordi's ideas were accepted very fast. During the season goalkeeper Perica Lelic made one of the greatest progresses. He became one of NEXE's key players and biggest strenght. He has one of the best saving ratios (9,83 per game) in the league. Igor Vujic, NEXE's left back, was on the other side league's second best scorer with 100 goals in 15 matches. Sime Ivic was also among the best with which he has surely proved his great potential. He was one of NEXE's most important players in attack as well as defense. Albin Eter was irreplaceable in 5-1 defense. He is the second players by number of steals. By all them, greatest discovery for the team from Nasice was Marin Vegar. Only two years after playing in Croatian league's lower division he became SEHA GSS league's six-positioned team's third scorer. Stability and experience was provided through Franjo Lelic and Marko Mrdjenovic but also from younger dicoveries Josip Bozic-Pavletic, Marin Sakic, Tibor Jurjevic and Luka Sokolic.
NEXE has this season proved they have potential and quality but the biggest problem will be keeping the team together. Igor Vujic has already signed with French Selestat. He was not the only player who got offer from best European leagues and clubs, But NEXE's main politics is to be part of the SEHA league and produce players for Croatian national team. Definitely, no reason for NEXE to worry about their future.
