Partizan ended black series

Partizan razbio maler – Metalurg pao na ‘’Banjici’’

Partizan Metalurg

Partizan celebrates their second victory in SEHA GSS league. Serbian team has managed to win three points with the winning goal of Aleksandar Radovanovic - "Zeitz" in the last second of the exciting finish against Metalurg 23:22 (10:15). After series of the tight matches in which Partizan stayed without points, Aleksandar Brkovic’s players have finally taken three points.

After first 30 minutes nobody could expect Metalurg to leave Belgrade with empty bags. Stanic was great on goal, Mirkulovski was scoring easily over Serbian team’s defense. Half-time score was 10:15.

Second half - totally different story. Metalurg was having troubles finding a way to score over Partizan’s great defense led by Mijajlo Marsenic and were not on the other side able to stop Serbian player Markicevic and Vukovic from scoring easy goals. Partizan needed a little more than 23 minutes in the second half to catch Metalurg with a new equalizer (after 1:1) scored by Aleksandar Radovanovic. After that match was held in egal as neither was able to sail on bigger advantage. In the end, only 30 seconds before the final whistle Mandic missed a shot to go on +1, Partizan’s coach Brkovic called timeout, and Radovanovic scored buzzer-beater to win the enthralling finish. Final score was 23:22.

Rade Mijatovic, Metalurg’s goalkeeper:

- I want to congratulate to Partizan. They’ve deserved to win today.

Milos Kostadinovic, Partizan’s right wing:

- We are aware of the fact that this win doesn’t mean much for us at the moment in SEHA GSS league but it surely is a self-confidence booster which is exactly what we need before the domestic Play-Offs

Lino Cervar, Metalurg’s coach:

- Deserved victory for the home team. They’ve simply wished this more than we did and I believe this is great for them as a team . We are a little bit tired with some injured players but that doesn’t mean anything, Partizan was today a better team. We’ve played 5 matches in last 12 days, stayed out of energy and with Mirkulovski injured it was mission impossible for us today.

Aleksandar Brkovic, Partizan’s coach:

- I want to congratulate my players who’ve managed to get back from -6 and win the match against team like Metalurg. We didn't give up. Our defense was decisive. We are awarded for all these matches in which we were defeated in the last moments. This is really stimulus for us. We will put all our effort to ensure playing SEHA GSS league next season too, through our domestic Play- Offs.
