Derby of league's middle in Novi Sad, NEXE wants revenge
Derbi sredine u Novom Sadu, NEXE želi revanš
SEHA Gazprom South Stream League is back in halls. Serbian champion Vojvodina is waiting for Croatian NEXE in the derby of league's middle (Saturday, Slana Bara - 18.00hrs). Team from Novi Sad has managed to beat NEXE in their first this season's clash in Osijek (29:22) but that does not mean anything because NEXE plays very good in away matches.
- NEXE is a very disciplined team, young and very well organized. They have improved a lot from the beginning of SEHA GSS league in both defence and offence and it is obvious that coach has prepared his team very well. It will be a very tough and interesting match and I hope we will be winners in the end - said Vojvodina's coach Djordje Cirkovic.
Defensive specialist Danimir Curkovic believes in his team:
- We know NEXE very well and we know how good team they are. I expect a very difficult match on Saturday. We've won in Osijek but this will be a different match. We have to play our best and hope that it will be enough for three points.
NEXE's captain Marko Mrdjenovic is ready to give his best to take revenge from the Serbian team:
- We are really motivated before Vojvodina because of our bad performance in our last match in Autumn in Osijek. That was one of the matches in which we've all been under acceptable level. We've also had troubles with injuries, but that wasn't excuse for defeat. We are going to Novi Sad to take revenge and win three points. Vojvodina is a good team, so we can't think that it will be easy. We have to give our maximum and find a way to do it...
NEXE's coach Zdenko Kordi thinks the same as his player:
- I agree that a match against Vojvodina was our worst in the first part of the season, but I strongly believe that it won't happen again, because this squad has spent more time together since that clash. I will demand high level from my players in the second part of the season. We have seen something in a friendly match against Zagreb, but we want to show the same in official matches. We know each other very well. There won't be too much secret in our clash against Vojvodina.
Vojvodina is currently placed sixth in the league, one point ahead of Nexe.
