Belarus team stays on road for Final Four

БГК – Войводина: победа на классе

Meskov vojvodina

Meshkov Brest has managed to stay on winning track in SEHA GSS league after an "easy training" versus Vojvodina, as Belarus won 32-23 (18-9), and stayed fifth on the table, just one point behind Metalurg after 11 games.
Macedonian vice champion will travel to Brest on February 18, and this game could be crucial for both teams in their race to secure F4 place.
Match was held in egal for only six minutes. Ten minutes into the match the difference was already five goals in favor of Meshkov (9-4), and in 24th minute, Oleg Astrashapkin brought first double-digit advantage for Meshkov (16-6) .
For Meshkov's line player Rastko Stojkovic and back David Milicevic this was a debut. Experienced Serbian player scored four from five and has, with one assist, proved to be an excellent replacement for the injured Viacheslau Shumak. Back David Milicevic scored three goals from five attempts.
Unlike the players who showed good percentage, especially the hosts, goalkeepers of both teams couldn't be proud of their performance. Both Meshkov's goalkeepers Pesic and Charapenka have made only seven saves and on the other side Perovic was left with nine.

Djiordje Cirkovic, "Vojvodina" coach.

-       Long trip to Brest and lots of injured players. Also the absence of our first goalkeeper impacted. Tiredness couldn’t affect the first time. We already had a bad start at first 15 minutes. Basically, we have been using this match as training for Serbian Championship. We will have really important playoff rounds this April.

Milan Mirkovic, "Vojvodina" right back.

-       We congratulate HC Meskov on their victory. They have played more qualitative  today than we have.  Our main mistake was actually the poor start of the match. Surely long trip here affected, we have been riding about 20 hours. Opponents created an impressive score difference in the begging, which we tried to reduce during the second time, but could not.  We congratulating HC Meshkov on their win once again. And we promise try to correct all our mistakes in the future.

Zeljko Babic, HC "Meshkov" coach.

-       It was very important for us to win. It does not matter for us how big the score difference is. We played strong in defense, after made some half breakaways, breakaways and "quick center". First game after the long break is never easy. In total, I am satisfied with the effect my team produced today. (how it looked today).

David Spiler, playmaker  HC Meshkov

-Surely, a long road had affected the game our opponents played. But I have to admit that other teams are going so far to play just once a year, while our team experiencing   exhausting trips of this kind during the whole season. As for the game, we have shown a great handball today. We needed these 3 points and we are happy with the outcome.
