Vojvodina wins exciting Serbian derby

Vojvodina managed to win the Serbian derby in SEHA GSS league against Partizan 21:20 (11:9). Team from Novi Sad had difficult task against their biggest rival on domestic scene, just like in Belgrade at the beginning of regional competition in September. Partizan had a chance to win a point in "Slana bara", but referees didn’t recognize Mijailo Marsenic’s goal in the last second of the match. Home team’s hero was goalkeeper Bojan Perovic, who had fantastic evening with 21 saves.

At the beginning of the match, young Partizan’s back Andrija Djuricic got injured. He was taken of the court. The first goal of the match was scored in 6th minute by Vanja Ilic (0:1). Vojvodina scored the opening goal after Kukic’s time-out in 1oth minute. In the first 20 minutes, Partizan was better team with good defense and Vanja Ilic, who played very good role in attack.

Good performance of Bojan Perovic between  posts followed by two goals in a row by Uros Elezovic, turned match on the other side. The home team had +3 a few minutes before the half-time - 10:7.

Vojvodina’s defense at the beginning of the second half resulted in +5 of home team - 14:9 (37th). In that moment it seemed like Partizan has no strength to get back in the match. Uros Elezovic became the first force in attack of home team lead his team to +6 - 18:12, 15 minutes before the end, but then performance of home team collapsed.

Belgrade’s team did not give up until the end of the match. Goal series of young Kukic and Radovanovic got Partizan back in the game on 18:17, while Vanja Ilic scored for 19:19 five minutes before the final whistle.

Ten seconds to the end, Partizan had a counter-attack which was finished by a red card for Uros Elezovic and Marsenic’s nine meter shot ….

I would like to congratulate HC Vojvodina and also to my players for all the effort they put in.We recoverd well from defeat from Presov,we had a chance to win a point but judges decided that  Marsenic goal was not regular.In front of us is period of hard work and we hope we will be better in the spring when we will play again with Vojvodina for the title

We had very tough week behind us we wanted this win very much and we had to work very hard for it.We showed very good performance in defence but Sipka and Todorovic got injured and that affected our performance at the end,i would like to congratulate my players for important win

Partizan started this game better than us we had a lot of problem in the offense,but we managed to compensate that in defence,we had a lead of 5 goals but with our mistakes Partizan came close,with extra effort we got our 4th win in SEHA

It was very rough and tough game,it was to be expected in the match Vojvodina-Partizan,we played very good at the beginning and at the end of the match,we needed maybe a bit more luck to win points in Novi Sad
