Meshkov in winning mood after defeating Metaloplastika before the crucial match versus Zagreb
Belarusian champions will travel to Zagreb for their last SEHA regular season match in a winning mood after coming out on top (32:21) against Metaloplastika. They now have six more games before the crucial game in Zagreb in which they’ll be looking to defeat the ‘Lions’ and book a quarter-finals ticket for themselves.
Meshkov have that way managed to take revenge against Metaloplastika after guys from Sabac came out on top in their premier encounter of the season. Final result doesn’t however show what was really going on in this one with guests showing two completely different faces. In the first Metaloplastika were playing really good even managing to take the lead on a few occasions but they weren’t able to keep up the same energy in the second and as a result of that they in the end suffered a convincing defeat. Less than ten minutes into the second it was already clear the deal has been sealed in this one with hosts opening the game to six (18:12) after Metaloplastika failed to get into the right rhythm in the beginning of the second half.
Vailupau finished the match with six for Meshkov while Panic added five. Their goalies Pesic and Matskevich combined for 17 saves. Milic on the other hand scored six for Metaloplastika.
In the next round Meshkov will travel to Zagreb and Metaloplastika will welcome Telekom Veszprem.
