EHF Cup: Metaloplastika and Vojvodina face defeats in the second qualification round

For Serbian teams Vojvodina and Metaloplastika this weekend was reserved for the EHF Cup adventures. Both teams played in front of their fans on the home court, but did not manage to secure new victories.

In the first leg of the second qualification round, Spanish Abanca Ademar Leon were better than Serbian champions Vojvodina 28:20 (14:7). For the first 20 minutes of the match, the home team were holding good. After that, the guests took over and secured 4 goals advantage. For the rest of the match, Ademar dominated on the court. At one point, they were up by 10 goals. But, besides this loss, Vojvodina showed good play and great motive on the court. Stefan Ilic with 4 goals was the best scorer in the home team, while Mario Lopez Alvarez netted 10 times for Ademar Leon.

Metaloplastika had similar experience against Slovenian team Gorenje Velenje. They were doing great until somewhere around the 20th minute when the guest team stepped up their play and secured bigger advantage. In the end, Slovenian team were better with the result 32:24 (16:11). Incredible Milan Milic and Viktor Maticic, who scored 7 goals each, were the biggest stars in Metaloplastika's squad. Matic Verdinek was the best scorer in the winning team with 10 goals. 

The second leg of this qualification round Vojvodina will play on the 12th of October, while Metaloplastika will continue their EHF Cup journey day later, on the 13th of October.
