Dibirov leads Vardar on their way to beat Nexe
The tradition continues and all matches played in Skopje in the SEHA - Gazprom League between Vardar and Nexe have been won by the home team. The current champion of the SEHA – Gazprom League needed 45 minutes to create a bigger lead and ultimately came out triumphant with 27:25 (14:14). Vardar have six points, and Croatian vice-champions remain at the bottom of Group B after three matches played.
When Vardar scored five goals in a row for the first time and increased the result from 18:18 to 23:18 in five minutes it was the announcement that the points would stay in Skopje. This is the second win for Vardar this season in third game.
Although the home coach David Pisonero previously announced that this SEHA -Gazprom League match would be a chance for the younger players, Vardar started the match with the strongest squad against Nexe from Nasice. The only player missing was Pavel Atman.
The guests from Croatia entered the matched well and showed maximum motivation in the match. They also had their goalkeeper Moreno Car who had five successful saves in the first 15 minutes. And this brought them success because they were constantly “breathing in the neck” of the current SEHA champions, and in the 24th minute, Nexe had a 3-goals lead (12:9). Some easy goals were scored on both sides in the next minutes. In the last seconds Ivan Cupic scored a goal for 14:14, before the break.
Home team in just five minutes made a complete turnaround after missing many goal situations earlier. When Vardar played well in defense then it was easy to get a chance to score, forcing the rival to make a mistake and punishing them. As Moreno Car did a great job in goal in the first half, in the second half Khalifa Ghedbane was amazing with 15 saves.
His saves allowed his teammates to score easily and to increase goal difference to +6 (26:20).
Left winger Timur Dibirov scored nine goals, and together with Christian Dissinger who netted six times, was the best player in Vardar’s squad. Fran Mileta and Ivan Dumencic, each scored four goals for Nexe.
In next round, Vardar travel to Slovakia to duel with Tatran Presov on October 1, and Nexe will host Beijing Sport University on September 30.
