Mykola Stepanets

After the amazing opening of their first ever SEHA season and win against Tatran Presov in the last seconds of the match, Ukrainian Motor Zaporozhye will try to continue their winning strike against Vardar.

On Saturday, 7th of September at 4:15 PM (CET), the newcomers from Ukraine will welcome five-times SEHA champions on their home court. There is another tough match in front of Motor Zaporozhye, as Vardar looks amazing at the start of the season.

Reigning European and SEHA champions also won their opening match and secured three points against Beijing Sport University earlier this week.

At this moment, Vardar, Vojvodina and Motor Zaporozhye have the same number of points in the Group A. This match will have a big say in deciding who will reach the top position on the table at the end of the round.

Mykola Stepanets, Motor Zaporozhye coach:
What we want to see during our first home match is a tough fight, absolute dedication and hard work during the whole 60 minutes. We also expect a big support from our fans because we cannot do good without them. The key thing now is to recharge players' energy and avoid injuries. Fortunately, the team's roster is wide, so we can choose the players that feel fresh at the moment.

Dener Jaanimaa, Motor Zaporozhye player:
Our next match is going to be extremely interesting. We are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to play against the five-times SEHA League winners and reigning European champions. I consider Dainis Kristopans to be one of the best right back players in the League, and his teammates are also very skilled. We expect a thrilling match!

David Jose Pisonero,Vardar coach:
This will be the first serious test for Vardar, the perfect guest match in the SEHA League against a very good rival. If we want a good result, we need to play our best. We trained hard and I think we need quality matches. I'm happy to be here and I think the players and the team are ready for such matches and are looking forward to getting on the court.

Timur Dibirov, Vardar player:
It is certain that Motor Zaporozhye are a team of higher quality than our last opponents, Beijing Sport University. We should use this match as a preparation for the start of the EHF Champions League. I think this match will be played by all our players. Motor Zaporozhye are a very ambitious project, a stable team in all segments and in every position. They have been in the EHF Champions League play-offs for 2 years and everyone who is visiting Zaporozhye has a tough time on the court. But, I also expect our form to be up and we need to play a quality match to secure a good result.
