Motor Zaporohye secure three points in Presov

Motor Zaporozhye – newcomers representing Ukrainian handball

Brilliant start of the season for Motor Zaporohye as they took their first poins of the season in the amazing 25:24 (12:11) win against Tatran Presov. 

The match didn't start well for the home team. Tatran's Oliver Rabek got injured in the first minute of the match and had to leave the court. But, after only a few moments he was back in the match and scored for Tatran's lead 2:3. After that, for the most of the first half the teams played goal by goal. The newcomers from Ukraine managed to secure the 12:11 advantage in the last moments before the half-time.

Tatran opened the second half with two back-to back goals. Lukas Urban scored for their lead at the beginning of the second half while Titouan Afanou Gatine boosted that advantage. After only five minutes, Slovakian champions were two goals up. Tatran Presov even managed to secure three-goals advantage, but the newcomers from Ukraine stepped up their play. In a dramatic ending, Motor Zaporohye scored the winning goal just a few second before the end of the match.

The best scorer in Tatran's squad were Lukas Urban with 5 goals and Gatine Titouan Afanou with 5 goals as well.   Aidenas Malasinskas, Barys Pukhouski, Eduard Kravchenko and Igor Soroka netted four times for Motor Zaporohye. 

Tatran Presov will play the next match on the 8th of September against Nexe, while Motor Zaporozhye will meet five-times SEHA champions, Vardar on the 7th of September.
