Goluza: “We wanted to deliver a good performance for our fans“

Tatran

Tatran Presov - Metalurg 30:20 (16:11)

(Hrstka 7, Urban 5, Butorac 5 / Dimitrioski 4, Tokic 4)

Slavko Goluza, Tatran Presov coach:
I agree with my colleague – players must earn the right to compete and wear their team’s jersey. That’s something I’m working on with my players as well. They must bare responsibility. There wasn’t much pressure on our backs but we wanted to deliver a good performance for our fans in what was our final home match of the season and I believe they today saw a good handball match.

Roman Tsarapkin, Tatran Presov player:
Start was not easy for us. We were able to create chances and good looks but still needed some time to get going for real. Secondly, we must bring performance from training sessions to matches. I mean, obviously it’s hard to be at your best every single time you step on the court but we must look to improve all the time.

Danilo Brestovac, Metalurg coach:
I’m not satisfied with attack or defense. We can’t play like this. I’m aware we have a young team but this is just unacceptable for a team competing in SEHA and Champions League. These youngsters must prove they deserve this level of handball match in – match out. Nothing is given, you must fight for your chance. Nevertheless, congrats to Tatran for this win of course.

Daniel Dupjachanec, Metalurg goalkeeper:
Today we faced a quality team which in the end took a well-deserved in. First half was good but in the beginning of the second we missed some clear chances when we had two extra players and I believe that sequence pointed the math in the wrong direction for us.
