Meshkov two steps away from F4 after a win over Vojvodina
After a dominant 35:19 win over Vojvodina, Belarusian champions Meshkov Brest now need only two wins in final three regular season encounters in order to secure another F4 appearance. However, coach Cadenas and his players have three tough games ahead as they will play Vardar, PPD Zagreb and NEXE – all away from home.
Guests started the match off way better having 5:2 lead after only six minutes. In opening ten minutes of the first they were playing almost perfect and nothing really suggested this will end up being such a blowout in the end. However, in the second part of the first Meshkov’s defense started functioning way better, Pesic added a few saves and they were slowly opening the gap all the way to 15:9 at the half. Due to this gap from the first, second half was not a big problem for Meshkov as they continued enlarging goal difference until 35:19.
Darko Djukic finished the match with nine while Petar Djordjic added five goals. Siarhei Shylovich scored three adding eight assists. Dusko Celica and Branko Tomic netted three each for Vojvodina.
