Rojevic: “This here was a handball holiday with former European champs“

Vojvodina

Vojvodina - Vardar 23:26 (14:13)

(Celica 3, Marijanac 3, Tomic 3, Vucicevic 3; Perovic 12 saves /  Cupic 8, Skube 7, Kristopans 6; Milosavljev 11 saves)

Boris Rojevic, Vojvodina coach:
This here was a handball holiday with former European champs coming to visit. My guys did their best. We missed a solid chance to achieve maybe even a better result in the end but I have to say I’m satisfied because we’re clearly playing better and better.

Dusko Celica, Vojvodina player:
Vardar won this game due to the fact they have more experienced players. Good test for us in the beginning of 2019 and I believe we’ll get better as the time goes.

Roberto Garcia Parondo, Vardar coach:
This was our first match after WCh and we knew it will be difficult. Vojvodina delivered a solid performance but we managed to grab the win in the end with a few focused, well-organized offenses. Congrats to Vojvodina.

Janja Vojvodic, Vardar player:
I believe it was a good game for all the fans here today. Good pace. Vojvodina played well and we weren’t as good as we should’ve been but the reason is clear – a lot of our players were absent for quite a long time due to national team duties. We’ll improve as the season progresses.
