Rokavec: ‘We must focus on ourselves in Bucharest’

PPD Zagreb

Steaua will on Tuesday (18:00 local time) host PPD Zagreb in a very important clash which could bring Romanian champions back into the final tournament race. Guests, who are currently on top of the standings, will on the other hand be eager to keep up with victorious performances in what will be their first match without Lino Cervar on their bench. Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, Digi TV and Sport klub (Poland).

Ovidiu Mihaila, Steaua Bucuresti coach:
We’re trying to stay close to the leading four in SEHA Gazprom League and we’re obviously look to make an additional step towards them on Tuesday hosting PPD Zagreb. We’ll try to deliver a good performance but at the same time save some energy for the match against Calarasi in our national championship scheduled for Thursday.

Bizau Octavian, Steaua Bucuresti player:
We’re proud of the fact we’re playing better and better in SEHA League. Our main goals are our national both Championship and Cup but of course we’re well focused on regional league as well and we believe we can defeat PPD Zagreb on Tuesday.

Davor Rokavec, PPD Zagreb coach:
First of all I’d like to remind everyone we had to work really hard to reach a victory against Steaua at home earlier this season. We know it won’t be easy but we’ve managed to re-energize ourselves and we’re going there with a complete roster full of self-confidence. Stefan Vujic is their leader, most dangerous player in their offense but they also know how to play good, aggressive defense. However, what we must focus on is our performance and our outing. That’s the only way to reach a good result in the end.

Urh Kastelic, PPD Zagreb goalkeeper:
Strong challenge is ahead of us but we’re raised our self-confidence levels with the win against NEXE. However, we must keep up with good performances. Our goal is to win the remaining three SEHA matches in December. It won’t be easy because they have a lot of good players and we’ll have to play well in order to defeat them.
