CO Zagreb looking for a new win against the leaders

Zagreb Borac

After great CL match against St.Petersburg in Russia where they have won dominantly 24:35, Zagreb is looking for a new SEHA win against current leaders, Slovak Tatran. In the last round Tatran won at home against Borac m:tel (41:21) and Zagreb lost in Belarus against Meshkov (21:19).

Boris Dvoršek, Zagreb's coach has a lot of respect for the opponent: ''After the match in Russia we had little time to prepare for this match. We surely respect our opponents, especially because of their results in the last few matches. We know how hard it is to play in Skopje and to win against Vardar but they managed to do it which shows us that lack of concetration can mean defeat for us. Tatran really has a good team with great wingers Urban and Antl and of course strong back lines led by Kristopans who is almost impossible to stop. The fact that they are current leaders is a great motive for us to win and I believe we can do it. Also there is a new problem for us as Šandrk injured his foot toe again and he'll be out 2 months, but injuries are something we have to deal with.''

Zagreb's player Stipe Mandalinić believes in a new win after great performance in St. Petersburg: ''The match in Russia has given the whole team much self confidence. We believe we can win the match although, as coach Dvoršek said, we know how good Tatran is. We also want to win because we have lost the last SEHA GSS league's match against Meshkov and we want to get back into the winning streak.''

Peter Hatalcik, Tatran's coach, is aware that Zagreb is favorite in this match but he hopes that Tatran can surprise Croatian champion: ''This club is a multiple champion of Croatia and also participant of EHF Champions League. Zagreb has a very good team that includes national players of Croatia and that is why we have to approach this match with maximum concentration because every mistake can be punished. We hope we can suprise them in some way and reach a good result.''

Vladimir Guzy also believes that everything is possible although Zagreb is slight favorite: ''In this match we have nothing to loose so we can approach it with cofidence and try to make no or very little mistakes. Even tough the Zagreb is a favorite we will try to stick with our match tactics and won’t allow oponent to get through our defense. All players hope that they'll get a chance to play and show their best.''

Match will be played on Tuesday, 15.10 (18:00) in Sutinska Vrela hall.
