Tatran – New leader beat Borac with +20

Tatran Borac

Slovakian champion Tatran Presov continue to play in very good form in SEHA GAZPROM South Stream League matches. Peter Hatalcik’s team celebrated tonight the second highest win in the recent part of the regional competition against Bosnia and Herzegovina's champion RK Borac Banja Luka 41:21 (18:9). With the fifth win Slovakian best side became the new leader of SEHA GSS with 15 points ahead of Macedonian champion RK Vardar Skopje with 13.

First "hat-trick" of home team in the openning four minutes of the clash (3:0) was the clear sign that Tatran won't have serious task to beat team from Banja Luka.  Team of Dragan Crnomarkovic gave the quality resistance in the openning 15 minutes of the match (7:4), but all the questions about the winner dissapeared after 5:0 series of Pejović, Rabek and Krzysztofik (12:4, 21.). At the half-time break result was 18:9.

Back-line of away team had a lot of problems to overplay the strong Slovakian defense.Tatran’s goalkeeper Jakub Krupa continues to play on high level with 15 saves against the team who is now at the bottom of SEHA GSS table.

Weakness of Trivundza, Obradovic and other player from the Banjaluka’s back-line made the advantage of home team even bigger in the second half. In 43rd minute Tatran had +15 - 27:12. The TOP scorer of the match, Žarko Pejović (7 goals) led his team-mates to another success. Even winner was decided, domestic team didn’t stop. Antl (5) and Guzy (6) were the main responsible for punishing weak rival to the +20 at the end - 41:21.

The TOP scorer in defeated team were Obradovic and Jankovic with four goals.

Bojan Crnomarkovic (Borac):
Tatran Presov was a better team today. Even tough we won our last game against Partizan Beograd we fell good. We did not expose ourselves and try to save some power for upcoming two matches in second round of EHF Cup. We have given a chance to our young players. These young players had a big respect for Tatran Presov. The goal difference is quite high. It was a good lesson to our young team. Congratulation to Tatran Presov. It was a nice and fair play match.
We were trying to do some changes in second half but Tatran is experienced enough to make any mistakes and we just could not diminish goal difference.

Peter Hatalcik (Tatran):
We are glad we won this match by remarkable goal difference. We are also glad that all match strategy and guidance were fulfilled. No SEHA team can be underestimated. Each team in this league is different and has its own quality. We were following our tactical match strategies, our players were running back and forth and shooting goals by which we fulfilled our pre-match wishes. We had been 100% concentrated. For our next match in Zagreb we have to be concentrated even more (120%). Congratulation to Borac and we are wishing them good luck in second round of EHF Cup.
