Meshkov wants to break bad series of defeats

Zagreb-Meshkov

After three defeats in row Belarus Meshkov Brest hopes that against Zagreb CO in SEHA GSS league 5 round (Sunday 16.00 local time) will end their bad series. Games versus strong teams, in SEHA GSS so far, ended in favor of rivals. Tatran and Vardar, both managed to triumph in Brest, and SKA Minsk and Dinamo Minsk celebrate in domestic championship. Actual SEHA GSS league winner Zagreb CO travel with appetite to won three points.

A few days ago Meshkov loss to Dinamo Minsk in Belarus championship (20-26) their second defeat in race for national title. Meshkov coach Zeljko Babic still have many problems with injures, and couldn't count on his best team. Again someone will watch game on tribune. Apart of Nerijus Atajevas, Sunday's game in Brest, will miss winger Maksim Baranau and David Milicevic, due to back problem.

- Currently play in high rhythm, but to be successful we need 16 players, which I haven't in this moment due to many injures, said Zeljko Babic, Meshkov coach.

Both teams prepares for next challenges in EHF European Cups. Meshkov will face Permskii (Russia) in EHF Cup second round, and Zagreb CO hope to be successful against St Petersburg in EHF Champions League.

- Zagreb CO is clear favorite on this game. We played in Wednesday derby versus Dinamo Minsk and lost 20-26. Next day's also have to play in EHF Cup versus Russian Permskie Medvedi, and our main goal is to have fully prepared team with rested players. This EHF Cup matches is club's most important game in this moment. In Belarus championship is still open race as we have to play also play-off, said Babic.

Croatian champion is only team without lost points in SEHA GSS league, but Meshkov is first strong and unpleasant rival for Zagreb.

- Game versus Zagreb will be decided on which team will score more goals from transition, and goalkeeper's mood, said Babic.

Guest team have long journey to Brest, travel more than 28 hours. Comparing to squad from previous game versus Partizan, coach Boris Dvorsek can count on Marino Maric, as he back in team instead od Teo Coric.

- Will face rival that has ambition to be among best four teams in SEHA GSS league. They lost last two games, so I expect to be especially motivated to break this series. Have good players, our previous members and coaching staff, and additional motive for successes. Although we had a long journey I expect to repeat performances from second half on last game versus Motor Zaporozhye in EHF Champions League, said Boris Dvorsek, coach of Zagreb CO.
