Shkurinskiy scores eight with three assists as Meshkov sail past Metalurg
In the first match of an interesting SEHA - Gazprom League Wednesday, Meshkov have managed to reach an expected win over Macedonian vice-champions Metalurg in Brest. In the end 41:29 despite the fact that guests were only two goals behind (17:15) after first 30 minutes.
It seemed like home-team players didn’t really enter the match in the right way somehow underestimating Metalurg whose youngsters played a solid first half even leading by three on a few occasions. However, the fact that guests today played with a roster whose average age was only 20 in the end decided the encounter as they were not able to keep up with experienced hosts throughout the full course of the match with Meshkov knowing how to take advantage of their mistakes.
Alexander Shkurinskiy scored eight for Meshkov while Petar Djordjic netted seven. In absence of Filip Kuzmanovski on the other side, it was expected for Halil Jaganjac to take the responsibility more often in attack. Young Croatian national team player finished the match with six goals and five assists.
