Vardar Partizan

Tatran Presov remain unpleasant rival for Vardar, and second year in row Slovakian champion celebrate in Skopje, this time 37-34 (18-14) in fourth round in SEHA GSS league. Even "red-black" where favorite before the game, guests show another great match, excellent defense and knows how to punished technical errors made by Vardar players.

This is first defeat for Macedonian champion this season in SEHA GSS league and third victory for Tatran. Coach Zoran Kastratovic decides to give chance to Spanish goalkeeper Aldave Malumbres and Petar Angelov. Due to problem with right shoulder middle back Igor Karacic.

Tatran plays without Svetislav Verkic and Peter Tumidalski. Youngster Metej Vernarsky get opportunity for first time to be in squad but Jakob Krupa was one of the key players, as he save 12 balls and two penalties.

- We lost game at the end of first half, when lost our concentration. Than try our best to get back in game, but very hard against strong team like Tatran, said Stojance Stoilov, Macedonian line player.

In first ten minutes Petar Angelov save five balls and Vardar lead 7-3. But instead to continue in same rhythm, home team allow to Tatran to come close, to equalize in 25 minutes (13-13), and that to lead with four goals after 30 minutes.

- I mention few days ago about Tatran strength and their good players. Negative trend continue for us on matches versus Tatran. We played good just in first 20 minutes. Than try to change defense zone, but was late to make reversals. Some of my players think that match is over when we lead 7-3. Start to shoot from every positions and situations. It is clear that we're tired playing almost every three-four days, said Zoran Kastratovic, coach of Vardar.

Tatran continue in second halftime on same level like before. Just after four minutes Slovakians lead 22-15, and this was clear sign for Zoran Kastratovic to call time out. Manage to score three goals in row, but Tatran again increase to six-seven goals deference.

- We start bad, as my team show big respect for Vardar. Our start was nervous and we did not realize some chances, but as match continues we became much better. First play good defense, than show individual player's qualities. When Vardar start to catch us, we stay calm and keep our lead, said Peter Hatalcik, coach of Tatran.

Former Vardar player Zarko Pejovic was one of best guest players. Not just because for his seven goals, but also fight for four penalties, and twice manage to be fouled for a penalty by Vardar players.

- We know what Vardar means this season, not just in SEHA GSS league but also in EHF CL, and how strong is the team. Our main goal was to play best we can, and to show our qualities. Today we played with 120 percents from our possibilities, said Zarko Pejovic, Tatran's middle back.

In next round Vardar travel to Novi Sad, and Tatran will host Lovcen.
