European week in SEHA league

After two rounds of the championship, SEHA GSS league will be paused this week due to European championships in which many of SEHA's clubs are involved.

 

CO Zagreb, Metalurg and Vardar are part of the strongest club competition in Europe, EHF's Champions league. Zagreb will play their first group stage match against Slovenian Celje in 'Arena' Zagreb. Macedonian Vardar will also play at home against one of the strongest teams in the world Barcelona and Metalurg will be hosted by Swiss Wacker Thun in Bern. All matches will be played on Saturday (21.9.).

 

Speaking of EHF's Cup, Meshkov Brest already did its job in the round 1 by winning against Maccabi Rishon-Lezion (25:19, 34:24). Both matches were played in Brest.

Montenegrin Lovćen from Cetinje had harder opponent than Meshkov but also Maccabi - Maccabi Tel Aviv. They have played two good matches but in the end Maccabi advances to round 2 (37:35, 30:29). Both matches were played in Tel Aviv.

 

In the qualification round 2 for EHF's Cup, stronger teams are coming in. In that way, Borac Banja Luka will play Slovak Sporta Hlohovec, NEXE will face Greek Diomidis Argous, Partizan will play last year's finalist French Nantes and qualifier from the first round, Meshkov Brest, will measure face Russian Permiskie medvedi. First rounds of all these matches are going to be played on 12. or 13. October and second on 19. and 20. same month.

Third round will also bring SEHA's clubs as Vojvodina and Tatran from Prešov are entering the competition.
