Jovic: ”Vojvodina fought hard”

Arian Jovic

PPD Zagreb - Vojvodina 35:25 (16:14)

(Bicanic 10, Kontrec 5, Bozic Pavletic 5 / Jovanovic 8, Stankovic 7; Jandric 15 saves)

Dragan Kukic, Vojvodina coach:
I want to thank Zagreb on a very fair match, considering there were not any 2 minute suspensions in the whole match. They played just enough to win the match. Our roster was not full, and did a good job in the first half. However, Zagreb raised the quality of their play in the second half. Bicanic was the player who made a big difference throughout the whole match. Their young players also did a good job, but we also had a tough schedule recently. I want to wish PPD Zagreb good luck for the rest of the competition.

Todor Jandric, Vojvodina goalkeeper:
We had a couple of tough matches before this one, making it hard for us to give our best this time. We were missing some players and it just wasn't easy.

Zlatko Saracevic, PPD Zagreb coach:
I fully agree with my colleague. This tough schedule gave us a lot of games, and we had a lot of unfit players, so I decided to rest Horvat and Vori. I want to thank our opponents on a very fair match, as injuries are the worst thing that can happen. We have more options on the bench, and young players had some extended minutes and they did a good job. A good win to finish this part of the season and my first month here.

Arian Jovic, PPD Zagreb goalkeeper:
Vojvodina fought hard, but we didn't reach our top level until the second half. We rested a couple of more experienced players, so it took us some time to find our game.
