Two Celje’s kids to leave ’Zlatorog’ at the end of the season
Slovenian champs Celje Pivovarna Lasko announced departure of two players from their famous handball school - Urban Lesjak and Ziga Mlakar. The two started their respective careers back in 2003 becoming members of team’s first squad seven years ago.
Urban Lesjak will join German Bundesliga team Hannover Burgdorf and Ziga Mlakar will on the other side wear jersey of Polish side Wisla Plock after scoring 776 goals in 257 apps for Celje.
"After eight magic seasons I will leave Celje PL going in the direction I desired, towards the best handball league in the world. I’ll join a team of high ambitions led by a good coach. I believe I made the right decision on my way to reaching highest possible goals in the future", said goalkeeper Urban Lesjak.
"It’s tough to leave the club which gave me everything. I am thankful to Celje. Sooner or later all of us come to the certain point when we want to experience something different. I chose Wisla because I believe the team will be a good fit for me and for the future development of my career", added emotional Ziga Mlakar.
