Bebeshko: ’’Challenging task is ahead of us, we don’t have full roster at disposal’’

Sergey Bebeshko

Novi Sad is ready for another handball spectacle. Serbian champions ended their EHF Cup adventure 10 days ago losing to Swiss Winterthur and will now have even more time to prepare for home match against Meshkov Brest (Wednesday, 17.00 CET) and SEHA Gazprom League in general.

Belarusian team is on the other side coming to Serbia after a tough match and a draw against Celje in Champions League only a few days ago. Despite of that Bebeshko and his players will have to deal with favorite role in this one. Interesting and odd as it may sound, Meshkov will play two matches on Wednesday - one in SEHA Gazprom League in Novi Sad and one in their domestic championship in Gomel. Due to foreign players rule in Belarusian championship, roster that will travel to Gomel will mostly be made of home players plus few foreigners while the rest of the foreigners will travel to Serbia.

On the other side Dragan Kukic has managed to bring that something to the club after succeeding Bosko Rudic helping them reach premier win defeating Metalurg Skopje 21:19 and boosting their self-confidence ahead of another top class rival.

Dragan Kukic, Vojvodina coach:

Meshkov are achieving great results - not only in SEHA Gazprom League but in Champions League as well. They have a lot of highly skilled players and we’ll have to deliver best performance we can in front of our fans if we want to achieve a good result. Meshkov surely isn’t a team we’ll have a favorite role against but have the right to fight.

Strahinja Stankovic, Vojvodina player:

They are the best team in SEHA League in my opinion. Based on that fact, Belarusian team is favorite but we will not give up. We have to give more than 100 percent. They played against Celje in Champions League so maybe they are a bit tired. We should on the other side deliver a frenetic performance in both attack and defense. In case we manage to do that we might have a chance to play a competitive match against Meshkov.

Sergei Bebeshko, Meshkov Brest coach:

Coincidentally, we have to play two matches on the same day - SEHA League match in Novi Sad, and Belarusian national championship match in Gomel. One part of the team will travel to Serbia and the other - to Gomel. With regard to the limitations applied to foreign players in our national league matches mostly Belarusian players will travel to Gomel. Plus a few foreigners. The rest of the team will fly to Serbia. Vojvodina have indeed improved their performance lately. Their latest home win over Metalurg is yet another proof of that. The team is much better after the coaching change, they’ve managed to speed up their game and improve teamwork. They are really good on their home court. It is a challenging task to win an away match against Vojvodina, especially when our roster for the match is not optimal.

Uladzislau Navumuk, Meshkov Brest player:

Vojvodina are improving and their latest win is the clear proof of that as coach already said. However, we are prepared for them. Goal is to reach Final4 so we’ll definitely travel to Novi Sad in order to secure 3 points.

Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, EHF TV and Sport TV (Slovenia).
