Gorenje Velenje - PPD Zagreb

Gorenje Velenje are waiting for another handball spectacle against  PPD Zagreb in "Rdeca Dvorana". Two matches with Füchse Berlin in EHF Cup did show that Slovenian vice-champions can play good, quality handball. The fact that they can focus only on SEHA Gazprom League in this part of the season could be another advantage against Croatian champions, who have achieved a great win over Rhein Neckar Löwen 25:21 only few days ago in EHF Champions League making the away match in Velenje a real test for PPD Zagreb coach Silvio Ivandija and his players.Metch is scheduled for Tuesday (18.00 CET).

Borut Plaskan, Gorenje Velenje coach:
PPD Zagreb are a very good team and they have managed to prove it in their last game in EHF Champions League against Rhein Neckar Löwen. It will be very difficult to play them but we will try to show our best with quick transition in attack. Luka Mitrovic, Alem Toskic and Anze Ratajec are injured and will not beavailable for us in this game with Janez Gams also being probable to end up sidelined for the clash. We are on the other side happy for Klemen Ferlin who is slowly coming back after an injury last season.

Niko Medved, Gorenje Velenje captain:
Based on recent matches, it is clear that PPD Zagreb are getting better and better. Injuries are on the other side botheirng us pretty much at the moment but it is up to healthy and prepared players to show their best and do everything to try to win this in front of our fans.

Silvio Ivandija, PPD Zagreb coach:
Tough rivals are waiting for us whose playing style is a lot like Clje PL’s - lot of running, counter-attacks and quick-center plays. Our goal however is to beat them knowing that Celje have also managed to do so. Injured Leon Susnja will not play tomorrow. We are currently in an ideal position but I believe that a lot of challenges are waiting for us ahead of Final 4. We’ve lost a lot of both physical and mental power against Rhein Neckar Löwen but we’ve had enough time to recover and I believe guys will respond to this challenge in the best possible way.

Josip Eres, PPD Zagreb player:
Atmosphere in the dressing room was good even before the match against Löwen and now it is even better. We are going for a win in Velenje but we are careful as we’re aware it won’t be as easy as it was in our first encounter. They are a quality team, 50% better in front of home fans. Definitely tough job is waiting for us tomorrow. Match against Germans took it's toll, but we’ve had time to rest and after today's two trainings we will be ready for success in Velenje.
