EHF CL Round 9: PPD Zagreb stun RN Löwen, Veszprem celebrate in Denmark

Izviđač - Zagreb

In an interesting round of EHF Champions League, PPD Zagreb have managed to achieve an important home win over Rhein Neckar Löwen after an incredible second half in which they have managed to come back to life from -5 after first 30 all the way to +4 (25:21). All in all it was a great team effort with Vori leading the score list with 5 and Skok having a good day with 9 saves.

Telekom Veszprem have also managed to reach 2 new points beating Silkeborg away from home with 24:29. The deal was already sealed after first 30 with guests being 6 goals up. Ilic was once again their best scorer, this time with 6 goals. Gajic added 5 as well as Sulic.

Vardar did not manage to reach what could have been a crucial win of the season in CL in Poland against Kielce losing with 27:24. It was a tough match in which hosts have managed to enlarge the gap to 3 in the first half and when that happens it is not easy to cope with them away from home. Dujshebaev and Karacic were leading the ‘Red and black’ scoring 5 each.

Celje PL were also defeated with PICK Szeged beating them 27:22 after a big first half in which they have managed to enlarge the gap to 5 which has in the end proven to be crucial for 2 points in this one. Captain Zvizej was leading the team with 7, Mackovsek added 4 as well as Mlakar.

Kristianstad have once again proven it’s not easy for anyone to take points away from Sweden this season reaching a draw against favored Meshkov 29:29. Belarus team was once again led by Kristopans and his 7 goals. Stojkovic added 6 but that was not enough to take full bags back to Belarus although they were 2 goals up after first 30.
