Metalurg - Tatran

After the EHF national team week SEHA Gazprom participating clubs are set to return to regional action with Skopje hosting a derby of the bottom between Metalurg and Izvidjac on Tuesday (20.30 CET).

Tradition is on Metalug's side with four wins back from first two seasons of SEHA League. Hosts will try to end four-match long win drought seeing the match against Izvidjac as a perfect chance to make the atmosphere better ahead of the clash against Montpellier on Thursday as a part of Champions League. Milos Dragas will be sidelined for the match due to injury but on the positive side Nemanja Obradovic will return to roster.

Metalurg are currently eighth with 4 points and Izvidjac are on the bottom without a point from 7 matches already.

By all this, we’re also celebrating the first anniversary of our #be8player campaign dedicated to fans and on each team’s first upcoming home match there will be a surprise for everyone. Fans are also invited to join our giveaway and win multiple prizes with a chance of winning an ‘all inclusive SEHA Final 4 weekend package’ so stay tuned!

Lino Cervar, Metalurg coach:
We’ll play two games within only two day playing Izvidjac tomorrow and Montpellier on Thursday in CL. We haven’t had enough time for training but we must adapt to the situation as soon as possible. Izvidjac are Bosnian champions having several young and tall players. They also have good wingers especially Jarak and are playing good defense despite of their youth. I have to add I’m glad that our players showed good performance in Czech Republic.

Martin Tomovski, Metalurg player:
This game will be test for the next challenge waiting for us on Thursday versus Montpellier. We'll do our best to achieve a positive result.

Toni Colina, Izvidjac assistant coach:
We have been preparing whole week for the match against Metalurg although we're missing several important players like Jarak, Mandic, Sarac and Eres along with our coach Zdenko Grbavac who were all dealing with national team duties. Metalurg play very good defense and we have different playing styles because we’re playing fast handball. I expect a good match and think we have a great chance in this match.

Josip Kvesic, Izvidjac player:
I think we can win in Skopje because we have been preparing this whole week for the match against Metalurg. Home team plays quite good at home, they have very good defense. In last two training sessions coaches will have full squad on disposal and I believe we’re ready to go to Skopje and win this match.
